What is European Portuguese?
European Portuguese is the Portuguese spoken in Portugal. It shares its grammar and much of its vocabulary with other varieties, such as Brazilian Portuguese, but has its own pronunciation, everyday expressions and ways of addressing people. If you live in or are moving to Portugal, it's the Portuguese you'll hear every day.
Are your instructors native Portuguese speakers?
Yes. Every Flikkit instructor is a native speaker of European Portuguese.
Do I need to know Portuguese before starting?
No. Your instructor adapts each lesson to your current level, whether you're starting from zero or already know some Portuguese.
Are lessons suitable for complete beginners?
Absolutely. Beginners start with simple, practical phrases and pronunciation, and build up to real conversations step by step.
How long is each lesson?
Every lesson is a private, one-on-one session lasting 45 minutes.
How are lessons conducted?
Lessons take place live online through Google Meet. You'll receive a meeting link with your booking confirmation.
Can I choose my lesson time?
Yes. After purchase you'll choose from your instructor's available times, shown in your own time zone.
What happens after purchasing a package?
You'll receive a confirmation email with instructions for booking your lessons. You can then schedule them at times that suit you.
Can I reschedule or cancel a lesson?
Yes — as long as you do so at least 24 hours before the lesson starts. See our Cancellation & Refund Policy for full details.
Do I need to install Google Meet?
No. On a computer, Google Meet runs in your web browser. On a phone or tablet, you may find the free Google Meet app more convenient.
Can I learn from outside Portugal?
Yes. Lessons are online, so you can join from anywhere with a stable internet connection — ideal if you're preparing for a move.
Will I receive lesson materials?
Lessons focus on live conversation. Your instructor may share useful words, phrases and corrections with you during the lesson.
